About Me

Hello! My name is Mary and I am a mother to the sweetest baby girl and a wife to my wonderful husband. Life is good!

I created this blog for many reasons. Most importantly, to connect with other women and to share my creative ventures. I was inspired to learn how to sew by watching Project Runway, and I have accomplished that by reading women's blog tutorials and making lots of mistakes. I have since picked up a few things on my own, and I hope that I can inspire you to try new things!

You will also see me sneak in a few posts about my other passions, the adventures with my daughter as a first time mommy, yummy recipes, and animal rescues! Sounds exciting right?!

In my former life, I was an Architect (Intern) and Interior Design adjunct instructor at the local college. But the economy changed a lot of things for many people and I joined the pack of those who had been laid off.

During these last three years, I have been through a wide gamut of life changes. I was laid off, got married, bought a house, had our first daughter, and went from being a career focused woman to the one who is a stay at home mom organizing the neighborhood playgroup! I have also recently decided that it is time to start refocusing my energies in to a new career. I am going to become a nurse! And I'm sure that will lend itself to some very interesting stories!

I can easily say now that I fully agree Joseph Campbell quote, "We must be willing to let go of the life that we have planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us."
