Thanksgiving Wreath

I have been on a wreath kick lately, but finding a reasonably priced wreath in stores is very difficult. I don't know of many people that want to drop $80-$100 on a single wreath.

I have to say that this is was a perfect afternoon craft. It was very inexpensive, which is written out at the end of the post, and it took absolutely no time at all.

Materials:
  • 24" Grapevine Wreath
  • 7 sprigs of fall leaves/flowers with pumpkins
Given that it is a grapevine wreath, it was just as simple as sticking each sprig within the wreath. You can tack it down with hot glue if you choose.
 Easy Peasy!
Cost Breakdown:
  • Grapevine Wreath, regularly $8.99- with 40% off coupon $5.39
  • 7 sprigs (or groupings) of leaves/flowers, regularly $1.99 each ($13.93), on clearance for $0.59 each ($4.13)
Total Cost: $9.52 before tax - not too shabby!

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is only two weeks away?!

Today is the big day!

In the interest of being impartial, I will not disclose what side I am rooting for today. But I would like to share with you all something that my Aunt wrote on her facebook page:

A great and important event takes place tomorrow...election of a president. Let's not do a disservice to each other if our candidate does not win. The race is too close to establish a clear and victorious win. One party cannot wipe out the other, just because it wins. Take joy if your choice wins, because it reflects your hope and personal desires, but be gracious. Don't forget that in this race, the other selection also reflects the hopes and personal desires of the other party. One's personal feelings and emotions do NOT invalidate or trump the other. Our president represents our country and hopefully he will remember that when he is elected. But if he doesn't, lets help him...by being tolerant and kind to each other. Kindness and love (however you define it) supercedes any election. Meanspiritedness is a temporary satisfaction that will somehow come back to haunt you...even if you don't recognize it! Karma doesn't always identify itself, but it does visit us!
If you are an American citizen, DO something today that is a privilege for you but a dream for millions.

Happy voting day America!
